Since I’ve been home I’ve been writing in my journal every day. Mostly observations about daily life and family and what I read but I also find myself recording current events, COVID infection rates, death totals, recoveries, etc. Not because I want to be morbid by including such info but because I want to tell a story and leave a trace of this time in history. Social media and tapes and video can be erased, but something about paper is forever (ask Anne Frank). One hundred years from now in the year 2120 I want someone to pull this off a shelf and say: “so that’s what really happened.” 🤓📚Btw: I’ve already planned to leave my journals, poems, writings and academic papers to Jordan in my will. That would really be interesting. 💜
